Data at Rest encryption ensures protection of stored data on StoreOnce so that data cannot be accessed from stolen, discarded or replaced disks. It is software based encryption that can be enabled on a per-store basis, which encrypts the data before writing it onto the disk. Data at Rest encryption can be used with Local Key Management or Centralized Encryption Key Management.
Data at Rest encryption must be enabled when creating a new VTL library, NAS share, or StoreOnce Catalyst store and it requires the StoreOnce Security Pack license to be in place.
