Diagnosis

When executing certutil -csplist:
Utimaco CryptoServer Key Storage Provider: Provider DLL failed to initialize correctly.

  1. Create a new variable CS_CNG_CFG in System variables.

  2. Assign Path to Configuration File C:\ProgramData\Utimaco\CNG\cs_cng.cfg

When executing certutil -csplist:
Utimaco CryptoServer Key Storage Provider: Object was not found.

  1. Check if the Configuration File is pointing towards the IP Address of the HSM and the corresponding port for the cHSM.

When executing cngtool.exe ProviderInfo

E: NCryptOpenStorageProvider [Utimaco CryptoServer Key Storage Provider] returned: Error 0x80090011
Object was not found.

  1. Check if the Configuration File is pointing towards the IP Address of the HSM and the corresponding port for the cHSM.

When configuring the Certification Authority, the Utimaco CryptoServer Key Storage Provider does not appear

There is an error with the Utimaco CNG Provider. Please refer to the CNG provider configuration section if the provider has not been configured.

When configuring the Certification Authority, there is a permission error in the last step.

  1. Check the User and Password on the CNG Provider configuration file (by default in C:\ProgramData\Utimaco\CNG\cs_cng.cfg)

  2. Check that the CXI group configured in the CNG Provider configuration file matches the CXI_GROUP variable on the user (this can be checked using the CAT application.
