Removing AD RMS fails.

Uninstall AD RMS without uninstalling IIS simultaneously first. Then reboot and uninstall IIS.

While installing AD RMS the following error occurs: "Attempt to configure Active Directory Rights Management Server failed. The AD RMS installation could not determine the certificate hierarchy..."

Unregister old AD RMS Service Connection Point (SCP) with RMS Administration Toolkit SP2 (chapter 3.2) and rerun the installation.

While validating access to the database server during AD RMS installation: "An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections."

Activate local and remote connections on ADRMS-DB: Start → Programs → MS SQL Server → Configuration Tools → Configuration → SQL Surface Area Configuration → Services and Connections → Database Engine, then start SQL Server Browser.

While configuring bindings of Default Web Site setting up a new SSL certificate fails. ("A specified logon session does not exist.")

Do it again (confirm the error message, keep the bindings settings and click OK again).

It is not possible to add protection to a document on ADRMS-CLNT.

1. Try to ping every instance within the AD RMS infrastructure.

2. Make sure an email address is configured for the user on the domain controller.

3. Make sure "https" is set as "Enabled Protocol": Start → Administration Tools → IIS Manager, then navigate to ADRMS-SRV → Sites, right click on Default Web Site in the middle of the window and select Set Web Site Defaults.

Server Manager.
